Island Savings was very proud to accept the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada Community Partnership Award. Representatives from the three BBBS agencies in our trade area recently visited our Administration office to present the honour. The Community Partnership Award is one of three granted annually across Canada to organizations or companies who demonstrate leadership and serve as a community role model, and who contribute by achieving tangible results and improving BBBS's impact in areas of priority. "Selecting Island Savings for this award was an easy decision," says Jennifer Kemp, Executive Director, Big Brothers Big Sister Central Vancouver Island. "Island Savings chose to embrace giving at every level of their corporation. This partnership demonstrates so beautifully that people and organizations find meaningful and creative ways to help vulnerable children and families. Island Savings and their members have made a positive impact in Vancouver Island Communities and we could not be more pleased or thankful." In addition to the Central Vancouver Island chapter, Island Savings is proud to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria and Area and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Cowichan Valley.

Congratulations to today's #SimpleGenerosity recipient from Island Savings a division of First West Credit Union, Monty Bryant! He's donating $1,500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria and Area. A dedicated volunteer for the past 25 years, Monty has generously contributed his time on the Board of Directors and various committees. As a former educator and Associate School Superintendent, Monty was instrumental in implementing the In-School Mentoring program in partnership with local elementary schools. Through his efforts, Big Brothers Big Sisters is able to connect children with other caring volunteers who change lives, one relationship at a time. It's clear Monty cares for his community and the children supported by Big Brothers Big Sisters.
